Aftercare Instructions

Lash Extension Aftercare

  • Do not get the lashes wet for the first 24-48 hours as the glue needs time to cure.
  • No picking, rubbing or pulling your lashes as this damages your natural lashes making future sets not to your preferred fullness.
  • Brush your lashes everyday lash extensions are like your hair; they can get matted as well.
  • Clean your lashes everyday your eyes produce a lot of bacteria and if any makeup or skincare products get into your lashes you need to clean them to prevent extra bacteria or possibly an eye infection or irritation.
  • No mascara mascara is very difficult to remove from your extensions so to prevent the need for using mascara, book regular infills.
  • Avoid using oil-based products on your lashes as oil breaks down the glue, this will cause them to fall out quicker.
  • Do not curl your lashes the curler will damage your natural lashes and break the bond of the extensions.
  • No direct heat be careful with heat as the extensions are synthetic so are easy to burn/melt. Be careful when opening the oven and drying your hair for example.
  • Need a removal book in for a removal -DO NOT try to remove them yourself as this will damage your natural lashes, impacting future lash sets.
  • Book regular infills every 2-4 weeks you should have infills booked for to keep on top of the maintenance of the lashes. Some people can only go 10-14 days, but others can go 30 days. It will be completely depend how well you follow after care.
  • No strip or cluster lashes should be used in between infill appointments as this can damage the extension and your natural lash, but you can also get the glue stuck in the extensions which impacts the retention on your next set.
  • Do not sleep face down attempt to sleep face up as the friction against your pillow damages the lashes which leads to quicker fall out.

Waxing Service Aftercare

  • Avoid touching the area and keep the skin clean after your wax. Your pores are open and liable to infection so allowing bacteria from your hands, increase the chances of an irritation or infection.
  • Avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours after your waxing service. Makeup is another form of bacteria that when in contact with open pores can leave you liable to infection. Avoiding wearing makeup for 24 hours after the service protects your skin and keeps it clean.
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds- For the first 24-48 hours after your waxing treatment, avoid UV exposure to the treated area. Your skin is more sensitive and prone to burning after waxing. This is due to the wax exfoliating and removing the dead skin cells that are on the skins surface, revealing the new skin which is more sensitive.
  • Avoid heat Heat opens the pores. Using a sauna. Hot shower, steam room or exercising causes sweat and this can clog the open pores or lead to infection.
  • Moisturize and stay hydrated- keep your skin moisturized after 24 hours of the treatment, you'll be clogging the pores if you apply moisturizer for the first 24 hours so wait until after. Keeping the skin hydrated and your water intake high helps maintain your skins health.
  • Exfoliate- After 48 hours of your treatment gently exfoliate 2-3 times a week to ensure no ingrown hairs appear and for a smoother wax on your next appointment.
  • Watch for redness or bumps on the skin- it is normal to have redness or irritation bumps however if this persists after 48 hours, contact your beautician.
  • Avoid harsh products- products such as retinol or glycolic acid should not be used in the 2 weeks leading up to your appointment or 3-5 days post wax. These products are harsh, stripping and can thin the skin causing increased sensitivity and increase the risk of lifting skin when having your wax.

Nail Services Aftercare

  • Apply cuticle oil- this will help your nails last longer and allow you to continue receiving the services this keeps the health of your nails up and in good condition. This should be done 2-3 times a day or at least once before bed.
  • Wear gloves- Gloves should be worn when gardening, washing up and cleaning. This is to prevent water, dirt and cleaning chemicals damaging your natural nail, furthering your chance of continuing your service for a longer time.
  • Do not use your nails as tools- Your nails shouldn't be used to pick labels, open cans, type on your computer or tapping. This can cause the cap that seals the product on your nail to wear off and lift, causing the enhancement to chip and peel, increasing the risk of damaging your nails and your nail tech refusing surface.
  • No picking or peeling your enhancement- if you get a chip or the product lifts then contact your technician instead of picking at the product. Your technician will then offer you a free nail repair, this will help keep the health of your natural nail and prolonging the time between appointments.
  • Book in for a professional removal- trying to remove the product yourself may lead to damaging the nail plate. Get professional advice and guidance before trying to remove it yourself if you cannot book to come in for a professional removal.
  • No direct heat- Heat can cause the product to lift. It can also cause the product to heat up and can hurt on your nail bed. The high heat can cause the enhancement to distort, discolour or weaken.
  • Regular infills- these are required and should not exceed every 4 weeks maximum. The longer you leave it in between appointments, the more strain you are putting on your nail bed, increasing the risk of damaging the nail plate and refusal of service.
